Client: Quiksilver, DC, ROXY and Tony Hawk

Event Background: In 2011 Quiksilver, the internationally recognized brand leader in surf and action sports apparel, wanted to create the world’s largest action sport and music festival ever assembled with a goal to do something that had never been done before.  Choosing Long Beach New York as the site, they tripled the prize money of any event in the 36-year history of elite surfing by offering a $1,000,000 purse.

 Execution: Managing Execution of design execution, onsite creative direction during event production. While Quiksilver had held major surfing competitions around the world before, the Quiksilver Pro NY model was incredibly ambitious with plans for eight nights of free music, two city blocks of skate and BMX parks, bars, retail space, and activities. Stefan Beese designed all festival and surf competition assets, from Site Layout, VIP Cabanas, Athlete Zone, Judging Towers to Sponsor Procurements and Activations.  These roles also carried over to Tony Hawks skate event in Manhattan.
